On 10 June 1194, a great fire grievously damaged the Romanesque cathedral of Chartres that had been built by Bishop Fulbert. In an inspired effort from the entire citizenry of Chartres, the Cathedral was rebuilt as the Gothic masterpiece that we see today. Every man, woman and child joined to help with the labor, and those who could donated funds for the windows and sculptures.

Join them by donating to the great cause of restoring and preserving this peerless artistic treasure.

The names of all contributors will be inscribed in the “Golden Book of Donors” which is kept on public display in the cathedral.  Donations can be made in your own name, “In Honor” of someone who is celebrating a special event, or “In Memory” of a departed loved one.
